So before we start today, I want to make a correction. I mentioned in the last chapter that Onke the Monk cannot collect his last quest token until we complete the Goldenrod Tower quest at the end of the game. However, I missed an available location to collect the final token: Cliff Cave! Then yes, we will be able to complete your quest for enlightenment. Whether we really WANT this, well, that remains to be seen. (That filthy, murderous little monk.)
So when Bela leaves Chuck's gym, his wife gives him the HM for Fly, which makes things a lot easier for us in the future. But first we need to get our Cianwood City encounter, which I've decided will be a Rock Smash encounter because I have a lot of water options and a Shuckle might be interesting if I can get it to work...
...aaay I get onegrumpy. Masculine.
Lore-Regel:
Kani Oni (Oni Blut)
You must master a dark move if possible. You must know a type of fight.
move if possible. You must use at least one damage move before you can
be taken out of combat. When hit by a Fairy-type move
It must be closed as soon as possible. It is also considered a dark type for lore rule purposes.
Data rule:
descendant of Kabutops
This Pokémon is considered a Water/Rock type for the purposes of the dice rules. You must master at least one Rock, Ground, or Steel-type move if possible. As long as this Pokémon is in your party, you may ignore the dice rules for Rock-type Pokémon in your party and Rock-type Pokémon you capture. You may ignore the dice rules for any Fossil Pokémon in your party (including Genesect).
In short, not a bad combination. Shaj Jeve uses Surf to take him down.verylow on health (seriously I was scared I would die from one hit) and I throw a Premier ball and catch it on the first try.
This random name generator is for feet, which honestly isn't bad for a creature mostly known for walking sideways. Between heavy boots and light boots, Krabby gets a light boot name generator and I choosehonor furious sandals, or sandals for short. (Wrathful would have been a more impressive shorthand, but Sandals is more fun. Objectively speaking.)
While we delve into the details of Sandals, let's take a look at Mele Cel the Tentacruel from the last chapter. She is serious, proud of her power and has the ability Liquid Ooze. Sandals, on the other hand, is kind, likes to fight (presumably kind), and has a Hyper Cutter.
So... I fly. Now that An'zeh is under the influence of Vharde's Lorerule (and, more importantly,I am aware of this fact), is not limited to having only two attack moves; However, I really don't want to replace any of his moves. Pluck is a solid one-turn STAB attack, Swift Attack can come in the clutch, Feather Dance can be useful against any REALLY scary physical attackers, and its dice rule requires it to maintain Sand Attack. So Vharde will be our aviator while Fly replaces Aerial Ace.
We arrive at Olivine City, where, of course, we take care of our top priority: getting new stamps from the generous girl. But seriously, we're stopping at the lighthouse to deliver the secret potion because apparently it's a Gym Leader's responsibility to do all the minor chores for random kids. What's next, having to return a studio executive's wallet?
Whatever that secret potion is, it's a miracle drug, as Amphy lights up instantly (both metaphorically and literally). Since we only see the secret potion in Sinnoh, where it cures some Psyducks' headaches, I assume it's some kind of brain medicine that raises all kinds of questions. What exactly was Amphy suffering from? (I'm assuming it's Spectacles if anyone knows, so I'll stick with my illiterate speculations.)
As soon as Bela leaves the lighthouse, Baobá calls her to let her know that the Safari Zone is open. This...is pretty cool, to be honest, but Bela already has a pretty complete PC box, and since the Safari Zone isn't really necessary for the main game (as far as I know), let's skip the pond. of Rage and save the safari if we're therevery needybest type of coverage. Which... okay, our next two gyms will be Ice and Steel, and we don't have great type coverage for either of them, so we'll be adding it to our roster sometime in the near future. (To haveplanesto deal with the Safari Zone in The Atrocity, but that will wait until we actually deal with the Safari Zone).
Although we could easily fly to Mahogany Town, I take the water route for two reasons. Firstly, I want to go meet Tyrogue's gifts, and secondly, there's a scene with Eusine the Stalker Boi constantly trying to impress the girl of her dreams, I mean the glittering unicorn fairy. Not in a bad way.
... and I go there only to find that I don't have anyone with Cut.
And the only one in the group that can use Cut is Lud the Grim, my Espeon.
Who is primarily a special striker.
Well, it's time to rearrange the party!
Then our power couple Azjiz the Ampharos and Lud the Ferocious Espeon go into the box (temporarily, as Azjiz is our best chance of taking down Shiny Gyarados). Vharde and An'zeh stay on the team because Vharde is our flyer, Shaj Jeve stays on the team because she's our surfer, and Orra stays on the team because her knowledge rule requires it.
So who can we cut? Zephys the Beedrill, Patient the Raticate, Astrofoire the Nidorino, Mele Cel the Tentacruel, Wrathful Sandals of Honor the Krabby (just calling him Sandals is not the same thing), Gror the Croconaw, Onke Gaika the Aipom, and Lud the Grim Espeon (which I have already established will not be our Tribunal user).
Mele Cel, Sandals, and Gror are all Water-types, and we already have Shaj Jeve, Slowpoke, on our team. Onke the Murder Monke cannot know two moves of the same type until he completes his quest, and since he must learn Double Hit to evolve (which is a normal move), and Cut cannot be overlooked until Blackthorn City, Aipom is out of order. question.list. That leaves Zephys, Patient and Astrofoire. whose attack stats are respectively 45, 46, and 49.
Honestly... I think I want to go with Zephys. I almost completely neglected its Nectar of the Gods lore rule (to be fair, it's a teaser with mediocre stats and a terrible moveset), and Odor Sleuth as a dice rule isn't bad. Of course, she'll need some training to lift our heavy weights, but why not take her with us?
As for my last teammate, I think I'll go with Flangin. Miltank is a solid monster that I've never used before, and his combination of Lorerule and the dice rule is pretty good, as his dice rule specifically helps protect the group from the harmful effects of the dice rules when catching Pokemon. Also, it has Scrappy, which is excellent.
Then Zephys Cut learns about Focus Energy (because a weak bug like Beedrill doesn't have to spend another turn just to line up), and we start grinding Zephys and Flangin to keep up with the rest of the team. And also pick more apricots because we always pick apricots while crushing them. Maybe the next time I play nuzlock in a Johto game there will be a clause that when I get to Azalea Town I won't be able to buy Poké Balls and will have to rely heavily on found and crafted balls. That might be interesting.
Of course, now that we have surfing, we can go to all kinds of new places. I'm going to crush my two weakest teammates before we do anything too crazy, but I want to try to catch those static lapras when everyone's even. On the way, we got some beans from Mom, got the nesting ball from the daily paint corner, and a silk veil from the accessories paint corner, which for some reason I hadn't tried yet. Dressing up our Pokémon can be fun later on when we have more accessories.
While we're not ready to face the guy Tyrogue is hiding behind (we need Waterfall for that, and we can't Waterfall to Ice Path to progress), we pay Suicune a visit in his secluded, wooded grove. and she responds by stepping over us and disappearing into the wind. Eusine, unable to understand that Bela has legendary footprints all over her outfit, boasts that his desire to see Suicune far surpasses her own and that her grandfather told her all the myths and legends about Suicune, which makes me wonder. there are so many myths and legends. subtitlesSonabout Suicune. Meanwhile, Bela gets up off the ground and starts picking apricots to regain some dignity.
During the routine session, Flangin learns Rollout on Bide because Rollout might not be good on a Nuzlocke, but Bide is worse. Along the way, we explore the new area in Mt. Mortar and I get scared when a level 25 Seaking scribbles a flail on Shaj Jeve, leaving her with 13 HP. Yes... it's best to avoid Seaking, as our answer to powerful water types is currently on the PC. We also find Raikou randomly, which allows us to lower her HP a little with Flangins Stomp, and we get a Mystic Water on the coast of Cherrygrove City that we give to Shaj Jeve to improve his surfing. Next, we teach Flangin Body Slam through Stomp, because while Flinch is good, Para is even better, and Zephys learns Toxic Spikes through String Shot because it can be useful.
Now I'm training so hard at Mt. Mortar that I ended up finding a second Marill. Um, hey man, I'm sorry, but I have to knock him out. I know it's probably against the Endangered Species Act, but considering how legendary Pokemon are treated in the Pokemon world, I sincerely doubt this universe.hata species protection law.
Since grinding is boring anyway and, as I said, my range of types isn't particularly wide, I decide to take a detour to the Safari Zone for reasons. On route 47, I try watersurfing to see if I can get a Seel (it's evolving into Dewgong and I'll need an ice type eventually), but I get ten percent instead.Stariummeet. Well, time to see how it works!
